What’s a girl to do when meeting The One means she’s cursed to die a horrible death?

Life hasn’t been easy on sixteen-year-old Emma Connor, so a new start in New York may be just the change she needs. But the posh Upper East Side prep school she has to attend? Not so much. Friendly faces are few and far between, except for one that she’s irresistibly drawn to—Brendan Salinger, the guy with the rock-star good looks and the richest kid in school, who might just be her very own white knight.

But even when Brendan inexplicably turns cold, Emma can’t stop staring. Ever since she laid eyes on him, strange things have been happening. Streetlamps go out wherever she walks, and Emma’s been having the oddest dreams: visions of herself in past lives—visions that warn her to stay away from Brendan. Or else.

Spellbound in short is about a troubled girl, who has no family and almost killed by his step father’s drinking moves to New York to live with her aunt.Goes to a high profile school.Only friend she makes turns out to be a witch.A handsome hunk ,who cares for no one but every girl in the school wants him and every guy wants to be like him, speaks for her who turns out to be her soul mate.Hey but not every thing is hunky dory.I cannot spill any more beans for if you want to read Spellbound, you might want to read it henceforth.

The story has a reincarnation element and I feel reincarnation is a very tricky element to melt with in a story.Spellbound is like a story which has a very simple and strong past life story(almost an epic kinds) but you can somehow not manage to have that effective story for Emma and Brendan(main characters).I hope this sentence makes sense. It just turned out to be fighting a high school revenge to prevent the epic curse from taking your life.Probably the story raises its level in the middle and you just can’t do anything but expect a lot more.

Angelique, best friend of Emma, is a witch. She finds out that Emma is witch as well.I wish the witch element of the story would have been established and had more contribution in the story.

In my opinion, Spellbound had an enormous capability to become one of the best reads in Young Adult Paranormal Romance for me this year. But it has just left me waiting for the hope of the next one to be so.

One Line for the Characters
